For parents and caregivers

A new bedtime story every night, and it remembers the last one

Set up a story series once in ChatGPT: your child's toys as the heroes, a world to explore, the values you care about. Each night ChatGPT writes the next episode, Tucktale keeps the story so far, reads it aloud in a calm voice and keeps it ready to play.

Coming soon to ChatGPTSee how it works in ChatGPT

How a night works

  1. Set it up once

Tell ChatGPT: “Set up a Tucktale bedtime series about Biscuit, a stuffed rabbit, and Pip, a toy robot, in a village on the clouds. Kindness and courage, about five minutes, ages 5-6.”

  2. Ask for tonight's episode

“Tonight's Tucktale episode.” ChatGPT reads the story so far from Tucktale and writes the next episode: same characters, what they learned, what they promised to do next.

  3. Press play

In a minute or two the narration is ready: play it in ChatGPT, from your private listening link, in a podcast app.

Ways to listen

Your listening link

A private page with every episode of the season, ready to play on any phone or speaker. Only people you share it with can open it.

Your podcast app

A private podcast feed of the series: new episodes appear on their own, so bedtime needs no screen beyond pressing play.

A season you can keep

A season is ten episodes by default. When it ends, download the whole season as a book laid out for print: a title page, the characters, every episode as a chapter and pages to draw your favourite moment.

Questions

Who is Tucktale for?

Parents and caregivers. You set up the series and ask for each night's episode in ChatGPT; your child only listens. Tucktale has no child accounts and never asks for your child's name, age or photo.

Does it remember what happened before?

Yes. Tucktale keeps the series' memory on its own server: who the characters are, what happened in every episode, what was promised for next time. Each new episode, even in a new chat weeks later, picks up from there.

What does the narration sound like?

A calm voice reads each episode at a bedtime pace, with pauses between paragraphs. It is made on our own server with Kokoro, an open text-to-speech model; you can choose from four voices.

Can my child listen without a screen?

Yes. Play the episode from your private listening link or a podcast app on a speaker.

Is it safe for young listeners?

ChatGPT writes every episode to Tucktale's bedtime rules: gentle stakes, no violence or scary creatures, no brands or characters from other stories, and a calm ending. Before saving an episode, Tucktale also checks it for unsuitable words, well-known characters and personal details, and you can read every word in the card before playing it.

What does it cost?

Writing, narrating and listening cost nothing. Tucktale has no subscriptions or ads.
