Terms of use
Last updated: October 14, 2026
These terms cover Tucktale, the ChatGPT plugin and the website tucktale.ambientapp.ai, made by The Open Apps, Inc. ("we", "us"). By using Tucktale you agree to them.
What Tucktale does
Tucktale keeps a bedtime story series you set up, gives ChatGPT a brief for each new episode, checks and stores the episode ChatGPT writes, narrates it with a text-to-speech model and serves it on a private listening page and a private podcast feed. It can lay out a season as a book (PDF).
Who may use it
Tucktale is for the people who set up stories for children to listen to: parents, caregivers and others who look after children. You must be old enough to use ChatGPT where you live. Children may listen to the stories; they should not use Tucktale or ChatGPT on their own.
Your stories
The stories are written by ChatGPT at your request, from your settings. As between you and us, you may use the episodes, audio and book files of your series for your family's personal, non-commercial use. We use them only to provide Tucktale to you (see the privacy policy). Don't ask for stories that use characters, names or material that belong to someone else; Tucktale refuses well-known characters and brands.
Acceptable use
Don't use Tucktale to make content that isn't suitable for children, to store personal details about anyone, to share your listening link publicly, to overload or probe the service, or to break the law or OpenAI's usage policies. We may refuse or delete content, and suspend access, to keep Tucktale safe.
Narration and checks
The narration is computer-generated and can mispronounce words. Tucktale checks every episode against its bedtime rules, but no check is perfect: read or listen to an episode yourself before playing it to a child.
Availability and changes
Tucktale is provided "as is". We work to keep it running but don't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or stop features; if we stop Tucktale, we will try to give notice so you can download your episodes and books first.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim about Tucktale is limited to 100 US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, except where the law where you live gives you rights that can't be waived.
